Change of deceased mother's name in SSLC Marks Card

28-Dec-2023 (In Documentation Law)
I have completed my SSLC from Karnataka Board in 2006 at Bangalore. Subsequently I did my Pre-University from Karnataka PU Board and Degree in Commerce from University of Mysore. I have been supported by an Orphanage organization since high school. While filing the application in high school, they had given the name of the local guardian of the orphanage as mother's name. While getting my passport, my real mother's name is given. Now the passport has come for renewal and I wish to change my mother's name in SSLC, PUC and Degree marks cards. The Birth certificate does not contain my mother's name. I am yet to check my primary school records. Please help

You have to file a suit for declaration seeking change of name from the competent civil court by arraying the school and college as parties to the suit and get a dcelaration. In addition to this youcshould alsoissue a mandatory notice under section 80 of the cpc before filing the suit.

Ans: you can file a Mis petition before the court and get a direction to rectify the same
