During the last few years I transferred a good portion of my income to my father, mother and brother' bank accounts.( some 2 -3 years ago). I married 7 months ago. After an agreement, my wife told me she is filling cases. If she files matrimonial cases against me. Marriage of only 7 months: Courts generally award reasonable and lower maintenance in short marriages. CTC 36 lakhs: Maintenance is based on net take-home, not CTC Money transferred to parents/siblings (2–3 years ago): These transactions are irrelevant and cannot be questioned. Permanent alimony (if divorce filed): For a 7-month marriage, the general range is ₹3–12 lakhs, depending on circumstances. Overall, your liability is manageable, and the court will not impose unreasonable amounts.

Hello in your case firstly we need to understand why she is filing cases and which cases further there are many factors which will determine whether your wife will be getting any maintenance or whether she is not entitled for such maintenance

In matrimonial law there is no arithmetical formula to calculate maintenance amount. Maintenance depends upon various factors such as, current income, assets, standard of living and etc… however if your wife without any cause is leaving you or seeking maintenance then the same can be challenged in the court of law. Sir first of all there is no fixed amount which you are bound to pay in matrimonial cases. There are several factors which are required to be taken into consideration while deciding the said amount. However, if you and your wife sits and decide amicably and moves for mutual divorce then in that case the amount of alimony or maintenance can be a mutual decision.
