wife mental illness now separated

14 months of marriage now separated. age i am 48 she is 39(both 2nd marriage). from past 8 months she is under psychiatric treatment. doctor said this is old disease. i come to know she attempted suicide in her past & her past is very bad. now she is 3months pregnant & demanding huge money as settlement. this is cheating i hav all records of her past, i am govt. engineer now what i can do plz guide me

you can contest a divorce case against your wife on grounds of incapacity and mental instability of your wife and also telling that she is incapable to be in a marriage. You also have to prove some adultery so that your alimony amount will be reduced!.

Her being now pragnant is an issue. But still if you are having her past medical records which show that the problem is incurable you can escape from paying as per her demands.. Also, you should not lose any move time.

Dear Sir, You may file immediately a Divorce Petition seeking Divorce that is Annulment of Marriage due to non disclosure of previously existing serious disease. If you are not in a hurry then after 3-4 years your wife may agree for giving Divorce by accepting a minimum alimony amount. It is not a serious issue.
