Hindu nuclear family. husband doesn't contribute to our household beyond rent . Keeps visiting in laws with or without me . Goes for festivals and trips without me. Fights with me if I take objections to his trips/expenses/gifts/loans

You have not voiced exactly what you want to do. Do you want to continue staying with him or divorce him? You can file for mutual consent divorce and end the relationship incase there is nothing for you to stay in with this marriage.

You have to be very strict and ask him to contribute the monthly expenditure towards family. It is his legal responsibility and liability. You have to take legal action against him under Domestic Violence Act, which will make him understand the seriousness. You do not have to bear any expenses for household even if you are working. The contribution should be same from both side.
