What should be the content of Domestic Violence report
29-Jan-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Should domestic violence report be very detailed one or should it be concise
any petition that's filed should always be crisp, but no relevant fact should be missed out as well. a petition for domestic violence is essentially seeking protection from different kinds of abuses mentioned in DV Act. so therefore the contents should be such that make out a case that the complainant/ victim was subject to dv and secondly, the reliefs being claimed.
In my opinion it has to be detailed because domestic violence is not one act like murder but a series of acts.
Not one beating but a series of beating, so, in order to prove it, the report should be detailes so that circumstantial evidence can lead to proving the crime.
The series will be like this:
When you got married
Number of people in the house
How was the behaviour initially
How was behavior towards your parents
Alcoholic habits
Any demand of dowry
Any abortion pressure or pressure to conceive male child
