Contested divorce is a lengthy process it can take upto years. If you go for mutual divorce and your husband agrees to sign and file is completely fine but if he backs out mid way it amounts to cruelty. If you go for a contested divorce then it will take years. So, best is to go for mutual divorce which will take less time and money. You need to convince your husband with reasoning. You may contact me for further discussion.

If the husband agrees to execute the joint petition for divorce then it will hardly takes 18 months and if the husband doesn't agree to execute the said joint application for divorce then it may take 5 years to 10 years and if you are lucky enough the it may be settled in 3 to 4 years

In depends in which section of Hindu Marriage Act 1955 you wish to file divorce application. If it is filed by you under Section 13 in that event it is long drawn proceeding.Sometime it takes 5 to 8 years to get a Decree of Divorce in West Bengal. But if you file the Mutual Divorce Suit under Section 13B by both you and your husband in that it will be decided after six month from the date of filing of mutual divorce suit under Section 13B.
