What is streedhan? And how to retrieve streedhan from husband?

I want to know what is wife's rights after domestic violence police complaint not FIR? How can I recover my streedhan under which section? What proofs are needed to recover streedhan? How can I file for maintenance n litigation charges? How much time it takes for whole process?
A wife has her right to recover her Streedhan which includes all the gifts which she receives from both the families at the time of marriage,she has the right to apply for maintainence from her husband. A list of articles as streedhan needs to be attached in the complaint copy. Charges differ from lawyer to lawyer. Time depends on the Court,min. 1 year to 5 years.

The Supreme Court has pronounced in its judgements several times, that, a wife is entitled to the return of her streedhan from an estranged husband under the Domestic Violence Act, 2005, even if there is a decree of judicial separation. Streedhan comprises gifts and valuables received by a woman from her family at the time of marriage.

Hi Good Morning, the domestic violence complaint you said is called as a Non Cognizant Offence. in this offences police will not directly file FIR. but yes police have a rights to arrest any one for this kind of the offence. but their are women's have some rights like right to residence,right to livelihood etc. using domestic violence case wife can claim streedhan. also wife can claim maintainance and alimony under section 23 and under section 17 of dv act wife can claim compensation and litigation charges from husband.
