If the witnesses are called by the court then first of all their chief will be done by the public prosecutor and after that the counsel of the opposite party will cross examine the witnesses by putting up his/her questions. Then the witnesses will be discharged. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

If the witnesses are called during the trial of the criminal proceedings this may be due to his evidence, which has to be done in court. The witnesses have to give a written statement before the court. The cross examination is done once the examination in chief is done.
