Yes, you can file for divorce in Karnataka even if your marriage took place or was registered in another state, provided you meet specific legal jurisdiction rules. Under Indian family law, you do not have to file in the exact state where you got married

Yes, it is possible, but only if the Family Court in Karnataka has jurisdiction under Section 19 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. A divorce petition can be filed where the marriage was solemnized, where the parties last resided together, where the respondent resides, or where the wife is presently residing (in applicable cases). If none of these apply to Karnataka, the petition cannot ordinarily be filed there. A few more facts are needed to determine the correct jurisdiction.

Yes it is possible under Hindu Marriage Act Section 19 or special marriage laws dependent on your governing statute Jurisdiction to file a divorce petition allows you to file where the marriage was solemnized where the respondent currently resides or where both parties last resided together jointly Further a wife is given special statutory provisions permitting her to file where she currently resides at the time of presenting the petition If you or your spouse reside in Karnataka or last resided together in Karnataka family courts there hold full territorial jurisdiction to entertain and adjudicate your case
