Want to marry a guy from different caste

Hi, I'm 22 year old girl and the person I want to marry with is 23 year old and he's an class one officer, but our castes are different. He's hindu SC and I'm Hindu Maratha. We both love each other so deeply, we told our parents about our relationship. He's mother agreed as she is my mother's friend but my parents refuses to accept our relationship. I convinced my parents about his rank, status and reputations but still they disagreed as he is from lower caste. I want to ask you that is it ilegal to marry a lower caste man. I want to marry him but what if my family allegations harms his family. How to deal with that kind of hatred by my villagers towards my family and his family.

Sorry to know about your situation. As both of you have attained maturity, you are free to marry a person of your choice. You people may do registered marriage under special marriages Act. As for your relatives, it's your part to convince them but legally they cannot harm you.

it's not in legal you can marry with that, guy and you can go for court marriage or temple marriage option for getting married if ur parents are not agree. it's not illegal you are adult now n can get married regards , thank you

Well, don't worry, it is not illegal for you to marry with a person of SC . Moreover, if the thinking of your Parents & thinking of Villagers has been blocking your way of Marriage, get the Court Marriage done.
