Want to file DV against my husband

Hello,nIts been 15yrs of marriage and 5months since I separated from my husband because of several issues between us. As he never used to treat me well. He used to accuse, abuse, gets violent every now and then for no reason. For 1 silliest reason that he dont want me to work from office and go to gym. Tried to sort out our differences many times but it was pointless. The day I left house, I had done general diary in police station and after a month it was closed as I did not take any action on it further. That time I genuinely wanted to settle down things peacefully but time and again my husband is torturing me and my daughter over whatsapp and voice calls and outraging my modesty. He is spreading rumours among friend and family that I am having affairs and I am characterless women. Now I sincerely want to file a DV case. So my question is, is it possible to file a complain now?? And is it mandatory to lodge an FIR?Or if there any other way to deal with this?

There is no specific time limit1 for filing a complaint against domestic violence, but you must be able to prove that you were in a domestic relationship with the harasser at the time the violence took place.

you can file dv case but simply file a complaint in station and take NCR or fir.....and after you can file dv as well as maintenance case and others relief and if you want divorce case you can also file

it is not necessary to large a complaint and get a FIR done in police station for legally moving against your husband. your case still stands even if you have not to take an action on your previous complaint against him. The main thing is evidence/ proof for a DV case.
