Want to file divorce on grounds of domestic violence but scared

My husband and I were married 20 yrs ago but he has always been beating me since the day we got married. He accuses me of extra marital affair and invades into my private chats. I want divorce on grounds of domestic violence. And he is not ready for mutual divorce.

on the above mentioned query please file immediately a plaint under section 12 domestic violence act the concerned Court , where you resides at present . thereafter file suit for maintenance against your husband in the concerned family court .

He can’t beat you. Physical assault is nothing short of cruelty to you, which is a ground for you to seek divorce from your husband. If he’s not ready for mutual divorce, you may contest a divorce case against him in the court. Contact a local lawyer for more help
