Understanding ‘Uncontested Restorational’ in Case Status

13-Jun-2025 (In Divorce Law)
My sister got married in December 2022. Just three months after the marriage, her husband and his family began mentally harassing her. To protect her, we filed cases for maintenance and dowry harassment against them. The case has been ongoing for the past two years. However, we missed the court date last week. When we checked the status online, it showed the case as "Disposed" with the nature of disposal listed as "Uncontested Restorational." Could you please help me understand what this means

That means that your case has been closed and due to non-appearance of you or your counsel the court has disposed off the matter. If you wish to reopen then you have to approach the sessions court and file an appeal for the same.

Sir, it means it has been disposed off as dismissed in default. Meaning that you will have to file an application on behalf of your sister to restore the case by giving reasons for missing court dates with undertaking that she won't repeat that in future. Hire a good Advocate who would pursue your sister's case diligently and not miss dates.

It Means that the court has ended your case citing that you have made a default which in your case is non appearance. You have 30days to contest the said order. Therefore, you shall immediately file a Setting Aside application under CPC along with restoration of suit in the concerned court.
