Now a days law has been changed... priorit was in favour of girl but this led to a large number of misuse of this law and plenty of false cases was registered . And H'ble SC has set some guidelines for handling such type of matrimonial cases . Arrest cannot be made at prima facie case . And after recieving a complaint it will be forwarded to family welfare commite and that commite will try to find out truth and real matter in dispute and will try to solve this by mediation.

दहेज संबंधी कानून और घरेलू हिंसा से संबंधित कानून, दोनों ही अलग-अलग हैं।
दहेज संबंधी कानून में माननीय सुप्रीम कोर्ट के निर्देशानुसार गिरफ्तारी पर रोक लगा दी गई है (केवल विशेष परिस्थितियों को छोड़कर)। अतः आप लोगों को अधिक परेशान होने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है। आप चाहें तो माननीय हाई कोर्ट में एफआईआर के खिलाफ जा सकते हैं।
घरेलू हिंसा के केस में आप न्यायालय में अपने अधिवक्ता के माध्यम से उपस्थित हो सकते हैं आपको व्यक्तिगत रूप से उपस्थित होने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है।

Domestic violence and dowry cases are taken very seriously in the court of law. Unfortunately women use it for their advantage. If your wife sue your parents and sister they will be have to go through the aftermath. There are strict penalty against it. Your father who seems to be a government employee has to inform his HOD about the proceeding and can be suspended if spends more than 24 hours in police custody. He can also be terminated from services if convicted for more than 2 years. Hire a local lawyer for such a case and try gathering some evidence like messages or call recording and try to make your wife admit that she is falsely accusing you.
