Procedure to file for divorce for marriage held in temple

28-May-2023 (In Divorce Law)
A year back i got married with a person i was in a relation for 6 years. The marriage was in a temple with no family members just our friends with 15 people and my mother. It was not the legal marriage in the eyes of law. Now, i don't want to live with that person. But he has wedding pictures and videos. I can't take divorce because the marriage is not legal. What to do to get permanently separated from him and prove the relationship invalid?

Dear Madam
Marriage performed in a temple leading to performance of seven steps around fire as per customary rites is considered as a valid marriage. So, if the marriage has been so performed, the marriage is a valid one and you can file an application under Hindu Marriage Act for dissolution of the marriage.
