Power of Attorney in Divorce cases

28-Mar-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I have an ongoing divorce case where I am the petitioner. I am currently out of India and before leaving I have given GPA to my father. I have requested my lawyer to put a petition for proceeding via video con. My lawyer says that court has yet to accept the GPA petition document submitted to it. The GPA document is notarized so my question is "Is it a normal procedure to submit petition for GPA in court and for the court to accept it? Is there any need for this?"

hi in general courts does not accept GPA in family courts. so in all probability, the GPA filed under sec 32 and 33 of civil rules of procedure is pending approval by the presiding officer. after supreme court judgment restricting family court matters through video conferencing, judges are no longer accepting evidence through vc especially in contested matters. in mutual consent cases, they are accepting with some conditions
