Paying mutual consent divorce money in lok Adalat

03-Dec-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Hi Sir/Madam, My sister in law filed 498a on our family, after 3 counselings police asked us to try to settle the matter in lok Adalat otherwise she will file the FIR, We have decided to pay full and final settlement and apply for mutual consent divorce in lok Adalat. I have few questions here. 1. As the lok Adalat can only settle the matter and for actual divorce we have to go to family court, when and where should we need to pay the money. My sister in law parents are forcing us to pay the money in lok Adalat settlement itself, If we pay money before getting actual divorce, is there any chance of getting cheated afterwards(means can she cheat saying she is not interested for mutual divorce). 2. As the FIR is yet to be filed, do we need to take any action from outside to get the case quashed.

hi
you should pay the money in court only and. 1) ask the family court to grant divorce and since no FIR is filed under 498A, you can get a compromise agreement incorporated in divorce decree itself that no more future case(498,DVC, maintenance will be filed by wife side)
