On what grounds is the amount of alimony decided by Court ?

My husband deserted me after 1 year of marriage by saying I am mentally unfit. We have filled a police report. He is earning 22k. He mentioned in a few emails that he has been disowned by his family. How much alimony am I entitled to get? I am a B.A. and non working girl, no child. Hindu by religion.
As such there is no scaling parameter as far as alimony is concerned ; various factor are considered in its calculation . Besides this the present status of the running case have to be considered . Better you should have few counsilling sessions ; so that the fate of the relationship can be decided besides the legal mechanism.
