Need a ork around how to seek for permanent alimony from my husband

07-Jul-2023 (In Divorce Law)
My husband I got married in 2018 and lived for 3 months. I was mentally harassed by my in-laws and husband for those 3 months and was sent back to my hometown. I tried to concile multiple times and they didn't respond for 2 years. Now they want all the jewelleries back (given to me during marriage) and forcing me for mutual divorce. I need suggestion on below: 1. Looking at current situation, I am not in a hurry of getting divorced and have not filled anything legal. I have got a mutual divorce draft from my in laws in which returning of jewlleries are mentioned. I want a financial stability for myself as i have been troubled mentally and been admitted to hospital during my course of marriage. How should i take it ahead to agree on my terms? I can't agree on their terms on returning anything and getting plain simple mutual divorce. I am seeking for a good alimony to settle down and have my mental peace.

According to the laws interim relief can be provided to the applicant in order to meet her immediate needs. The relief can be termed as 'interim maintenance'. In Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, Section 125 mentions the applicant under this section is entitled to monthly allowance for maintenance. In Section 36 of the Special Marriage Act, 1954 can seek expenses from her husband. Section 3 of Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Divorce) Act, 1986 provides Muslim wife will be provided with fair and reasonable maintenance within the iddat period by her former husband.
