My sister is in indore. She is continuously facing domestic violence, emotional abuse, family boycotting her even taking her child with them but leaving her alone. Don't provide personal expenses. She is not having mobile to connect anyone. We have done so many family meetings but they are not understanding. I am in Mumbai and can't go indore frequently. Is it possible if I can intiate domestic violence report from Mumbai ?

Your Sister has to lodge a Police Complaint under Sec 498A of IPC in Indore as well as a DV Case in the concerned Magistrate Court of Indore under the DV Act, 2005. You cannot lodge a Complaint here in Mumbai for her in Police as well as in Court for Domestic Violence without seeking the permissions of SC to do so.

A wife may file case against her husband and in laws at any place where she is residing. If she is residing with you at Mumbai then she may file complaint under protection of woman from domestic violence act there. However, you cannot file the complaint on her behalf
