There's no such thing called police cannot take action against him.
All are equal before law.
You can give a criminal complaint for dowry demand and other acts of cruelty against him.
You can also file a DV case against him and his parents claiming compensation. residence, protection and monthly maintenance amount.
You can give a complaint against him with the district collector also who will take immediate action against him.
You can also file a maintenance case under section 125 cr.p.c seeking maintenance for you and your children.

If your requirement is divorce we can file a domestic violence case in court, seek maintenance from husband, also file a case for divorce. For the interim period, we can file a compliant against husband and in laws with Police. If police do not act, we can seek interference from court.

File a complaint: You can file a complaint with the police against your husband and in-laws for mental harassment and cruelty. It's essential to provide detailed information and evidence to support your claims. If the police are unresponsive, you can escalate the matter to higher authorities or approach a lawyer for guidance.

Protection under the law: In India, the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 provides legal protection to women facing domestic violence, including mental cruelty. You can seek a protection order, which may prohibit your husband and in-laws from harming you or entering your shared residence.

Legal separation or divorce: If the situation doesn't improve and you feel that the marriage is irreparable and also claims maintenance for you and your children.
