Dowry case or police complaint? In any case your brother and family have to defend it with the support of your side of facts. Your brother's wife has to prove her side of facts and the case will take its own course until the case is decided or ends in compromise.

the strength of dv petition has to be tested in the light of existing provisions of act. in criminal liability if false complaint was filed before the court then it could be quash by high court of Madras. DV act is very clear about this.
