Mutual consent divorce terms and conditions

22-Jan-2025 (In Divorce Law)
I filed for divorce citing cruelty, and during mediation, I made it clear I no longer wanted to stay in the marriage. However, my wife insisted on giving it another chance. Mediation failed, and we were asked to submit mutual consent terms. She demands one crore, though we have no children, were married for only six months, and both earn well. While I’m not obligated to pay such a large amount, I plan to consult a lawyer and negotiate a fair settlement considering our financial situation.

Hello,As per your query I would suggest you can definitely Negotiate the alimony amount before filing it as it's your right .And since both of you have decided it should settle amicably. For further information on this you can reach out to us .

ofcourse alimony of 1cr doesn't make sense in any way. better would be both sit and negotiate on the then file mutual divorce under Sec13(B) of HMA and I must say that before filing any papers in the court never go with any kind of agreement saying that you will first give 50% of alimony on XYZ date remaining 20% on XYZ date and balance after divorce decree. such an agreement will put in deep trouble. for further clarification please feel free to contact me.
