In contested divorce, mediation or counselling is mandatory first step before start of litigation? My husband has filed contested divorce against me in Lucknow family court.

you have to go in for settlement anyway before the police station or counseling centre family has filed contested divorce case kindly see the sections undet the Hindu marriage act yes it Is prerequisite before litigation

If a divorce case is filed in the court by either of the husband and wife, then first of all counseling and mediation is necessary. There are orders of the High Court and the Supreme Court, that is why the court has to follow themTherefore, it is important that whatever differences there have been in your life between your husband or wife due to which you had to file a case for divorce, you should share them in medicine

mediation or counselling is not mandatory first step before starting litigation it depends upon party concern to opt for mediation or counselling before file or starting litigation if your husband filed divorce then you have to appear in that proceedings
