Married as a minor, wife cheated on me, and her father asking 15 lakhs

Hi, i was 18 at the time of marriage, rn i am 19, she is 26, i was arranged married, forced by her family, they even gave us 2 lakh rupees for marriage expenses, as we said we have bad financial condition to do it, so theygave 2l, after marriage, i found she is mentally ill, she used to threat of jumping from terrace before marriage, and ran away from home too, she tried to stab me once, and she cheated on me with an neighbour, her father is saying to give 15 lakhs if don't want to stay withher

This seems to be a case of fraud, you need to immediately report to the police for threats extended to you. Also the marriage is not valid if the same is within the provisions of Hindu Marriage Act. You can seek divorce from the competent court on the grounds known to the law. If your marriage is solemnized as per Hindu rites then you can seek divorce mentioned therein the relevant provision. At first the entire marriage is based on a lie and secrecy that was kept hidden by the bride family before the marriage was even constituted. Thus making this entire relation based on fraud, coercion and suppression of material facts. Also the bride seems to be mentally ill thus demanding 15L is more likely an extortion from the families side thus provide valid reasons to desolve the marriage. And 15L is not required to be paid as it falls more under extortion.

you should nullify the marriage first on grounds of unsoundness of girl and age incompetence. don’t give the money and file a formal complaint to the police. and file petition for null and void marriage and provide evidence of mental instability with witness and medical expert and if property is owned by parents file eviction suit. this is the best approach if you want i can help you with this
