Maintenance for disabled husband

Helo,my cousin brother in chennai got physically disabled due to accident after 2 yrs of marriage ,now him wife file for divorce in family court,she working in govt job,but cousin brother lost job after accident.wife file divorce asking for alimony.Can our cousin brother ask for monthly maintenance from wife?what section he have to file case?whether he want to file in family court or some other court?what meducal documents he want to produce in court.

please let us know what kind of accident he met with? was it a road accident? was it some kind of accident that happened in the course of his work. does he have insurance? if your answer is yes, he should try getting compensation or insurance first. Further, for claiming maintenance from wife we also need to know under which law they got married. the Hindu Marriage Act does have a provision for husband seeking maintenance in certain exceptional cases. other laws don't

If the husband can not take care of his own on account of his disability then he is entitled to maintenance. Now the fact is that the wife is a government employee the disabled husband can claim for maintenance. But it will be a difficult fight.
