Maintenance Case Filed against me, Not Living together since 8 Years

26-Dec-2023 (In Divorce Law)
My Wife and I are married in 2012, but living separately since 2016. Today, I received a notice to appear in Civil Court as she filed maintenance case against me. I am ready to make the monthly payment, as per the court guidelines. Is it compulsory for me to attend the court or can I request a representative on behalf of me to attend it.

hi you need not appear on every day of hearing and you could appoint an advocate to appear on your behalf and defend on your behalf to not to grant maintenance to her or to award less maintenance to her

hi,yes you can hire an advocate to represent on behalf of you in court ,we need to sign some court papers to represent the case against your wife, and there are some clause if that exist then you can exempted from non paying of maintenance.
