Looking for legal advice on divorce

24-May-2025 (In Divorce Law)
I’m a 40-year-old woman with a 12-year-old son. My husband is abusive—verbally and physically. He hit me recently after insulting my family. I fear for my safety as he’s returning tomorrow. Our house is jointly owned, but I funded most of it. I need urgent legal help—can I get a protection order? What are my rights over my house and child? Please guide.

you can give the house and go to some secure place with your son, if you don't have any such a place you can today go to nearby police station, ask for protection against your husband so that they will call him and warm him. you can think of legal steps later.

Dear Madam, It is advisable not to leave the house. You may call the Police and ask the Police to restrain your husband from entering your house as there is danger to the life of yourself and your child. In the meanwhile you can file Domestic Violence and take restraint order against your husband. If you leave the house then you may not get it for the next ten years because of litigations.
