Legal action for abandoning me n my baby

My husband abandoned me n my daughter after her birth. Influenced by parents who gave me mental torture during pregnancy. Zero financial responsibility from him not even coming to see daughter. Been 15 months. How to proceed legally. Can I file FIR first? should I take along a lawyer to police station? What should I write in complaint letter? I want maintenance or alimony, child custody and divorce.

Excellent presence of mind. It would be very much benefit you if you involve a lawyer from the start. When a Lawyer writes a complaint he ensures that all the ingredients of the offence is included in the complaint. If you can't afford a private lawyer then don't worry,All women are eligible to get a free lawyer from District Legal Aid Service Authority(DLSA) . You can approach the State/National women commission or Women centric NGOs for help. They will boost your morale and confidence. All the Best

hi if you want maintenance for your daily needs and for the well being of child and also the custody of the child in concerned court and also could file FIR against him and inlaws and under domestic violence
