if the wife is qualified and well earning then it is upto the court to decide whether the husband will get maintenance or not they have to file their income affidavits before the court in the maintenance case

yes if wife is not working and don't have any source of income then in that case the husband is responsible to maintain his wife. Even husband is not working and don't have any source of income, in that case also he is liable to pay maintenance. if husband is not capable to earn any money or infirm, or he is handicap then in that case he will not be liable.
