Is extra marital affair a crime or not?

Hi I am married. I know extra marital affair is a ground for divorce. But I want to know Can someone file a FIR and criminal case against spouse in this case?

you can get away with adultery but rape is around the corner, destruction of family ties is in the offing. you are just procrastinating destruction of your future. spending time in adultery at the cost of your family and at the end of the day, empty remnants will be awaiting at the corner. you will be damn alone with your consciousness. Enjoy

No, extra marital affair cannot be regarded as a crime neither for the husband nor for the wife. Adultery was infact declared void by Supreme Court in Joseph Shine case. If you however, want to take action, you can allege the same under personal laws as a ground for divorce.
