Dear Sir, The Supreme court says 25% of net salary to be monthly Maintenance for wife Further 50% of expenses of child to be borne by fathet. Your wife earn for herself but you must pay lumpsum alimony which rsnge between R.5L to 50L defending upon your resistance.

In maintenance and alimony cases, the quantum is decided on the father's ability to pay. Has your wife worked after getting the BCA degree? If you are able to prove that she used to work or she is able to work, the Court might take that into consideration. Generally the responsibility of the child comes to the working parents. If you are not able to pay lump sum, you can also work out a monthly payment system. There is no strict rule regarding the quantum of payment.
