If i have to pay huge alimony if my wife proves I am having affair

I and wife dated for an year and now married for 4 years. It was late marriage . She 40 and me 46 now with no kids .Both in high reputed job.. Initial 1-2 years were ok later we started having lots of differences . We tried working out on our differences aBut it did not work.Last year Met a lady & fallen in love with her. I am in relationship with her from last 1 year . My wife left home after an argument 6 month back. I want to divorce her . I applied for divorce and wanted to go for mutual. She agreed for mutual but asking for huge alimony .She says i am applying for divorce as i have affair. She is hell bent on proving that i have affair hence divorcing ask for huge alimony .I am not in contact with other lady since one month as my wife is tracking my whatsapp .. call history to prove affair.I don't want to give huge compensation . Will my wife can put a criminal case against me for cheating her and make it a reason for high alimony ask?/What should be my next step ??
Adultery is now legalised by Supreme Court and at the most she can get divorce on such ground. Nothing to worry. You can continue live in relationship with that new woman. Your wife cannot do any criminal case against you. You may also file divorce petition on the ground of cruelty

if you have filed for divorce and matter is in mediation it is clear that you already have an advocate and you are here asking for second opinion. if your wife is willing to to give a divorce to you but is asking huge alimony perhaps she is having faith in in proving your affair. the matter of proving your affair is is based on the evidence and cross examination and it should be having faith on the competency of your advocate.
