it is so sad to hear about your situation so early in married life. One thing you have not mentioned is about the support of your parents & relatives in your difficulties and whether you are working / in job ? There are legal actions other than divorce that can help you.

Your case falls within the ambit of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence (PWDV) Act, 2005 and the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC). Filing a complaint under the above laws involves. it is a clear case of Domestic Violence and abortion in india is illegal, detailed discussion is necessary, there are many ways in which you can serve the platter to your husband and mother in law, detailed discussion is cumpulsory for understanding and to act upon considering the pros and cons of every step you take will obviously have a reaction to it, so it should be a full proof one.

madam you can file a FIR under section 498A and also a petition under domestic violence act you can also ask for maintenance and compensation orders, further you can also get orders for protection and restraining orders not to commit any domestic violence, for filing complaint, petition etc you do not need any support except an advocate who can fight on your behalf. you are not required to file for divorce instead if your husband files you can object and fight and see that divorce is not granted and his petition is dismissed.
