If your husband has filed a divorce petition and made false allegations, do not panic. First, obtain a copy of the divorce petition and carefully examine each allegation. You have the right to file a detailed written statement denying the false claims and produce documents, messages, photographs, witnesses, or any other evidence supporting your case. You may also seek maintenance, child custody, or other appropriate relief, if applicable. Every divorce case depends on its facts, so it is advisable to consult an advocate with all relevant documents to prepare a proper defence before the court. This will help protect your legal rights and present your side effectively.

If your husband has filed a divorce petition containing false allegations, do not ignore the case. Appear before the Family Court through an advocate and file a detailed counter statement denying the false allegations. Preserve all documents, messages, call records, photographs, or other evidence supporting your case. You can also seek appropriate reliefs such as maintenance, residence, child custody, or other remedies if you are legally entitled to them. The court will decide the matter based on evidence, and mere allegations are not sufficient to grant a divorce.

If you do not consent to the divorce, this becomes a contested divorce, and you have full legal right to defend yourself. Here's what you can do: File a written statement/reply in the municipal court within the time given, denying the false allegations point by point. Engage a lawyer to represent you — do not ignore the court notice, as an ex-parte (one-sided) order could be passed against you if you don't appear. Gather evidence (messages, witnesses, documents) that disprove his claims.
