In Talaq-e-Hasan, the husband must pronounce talaq once a month for three months, with possible reconciliation between pronouncements. As per Islamic law and Shamim Ara v. State of UP (SC, 2002), reasonable cause and prior reconciliation efforts are essential. Though two witnesses signing the talaq letter strengthens the case, if the wife was not informed or given a chance for reconciliation, and if she doesn't know or trust the witnesses, the talaq may be challenged in court. For talaq to be legally valid, due process and fairness must be ensured. So, mere witness signatures without proper communication to wife and reconciliation may make it invalid.
