how to find if I have been served a notice

Hi,
my in-laws/wife have stated that they have approached a lawyer for mutual divorce. people I know say that my in-laws are just threatening and would not have done so. is there any way to find out?.
the process of summons shall be carried out by the family court itself. the divorce proceedings is a month consuming process and the person has to wait for the service of notice. if needed he may file divorce proceedings case at his own.
