How to escape from alimony?

17-Jan-2023 (In Divorce Law)
My wife and me are married for the past 1.5 years. She is very argumentative and fights a lot. Her relatives are involved too much in the matter. I need to know the following details. 1.If I get a proof of her salary and job can I reduce the alimony amount? 2.She has 10 lakhs in her private account. If I get a proof of that will it be helpful? 3.If I quit my job and am jobless can I escape from alimony? 4.Her parents are very well off and have properties under their name. Will it be helpful if I get proof of their assets. 5.She was married earlier and got divorced once. Her exhusband initiated the divorce. They had initiated the case for divorce. Will it be easy to get the divorce petition they filed? 6.What are the other ways in which I can protect myself?

Dear Client,

You can not escape from the payment of alimony to your wife. The concept is that wife is entitled to get the alimony at the equal financial status of her husband. But if you can prove that she has financial assets in her own name, this quantum of alimony can be reduced subject to how you convince the matter in court, if she is employed you can call for the employment details from where she is employed.
But it is not a good idea to quit your job to evade alimony, the concept is that the husband is liable to maintain his wife and children even by doing menial job.
