There is no legal way to know about the registration of FIR against you. In case there is a complaint under section 498A or under any other section against you then the police will call you for investigation.

It is not uncommon that many times women threaten their husbands and inlaws by filing false complaints of Dowry harassment and Domestic Violence. And to your question of launching of FIR is based on the complaint given by your wife in the local police station. The Police officials may be launching the FIR at any stage after satisfied that prima facie there is a case and investigation is required but after the recent Supreme Court Judgments in most of the complaints the Police are likely to file an FIR in dowry harassment cases. Based on the FIR warrents may be issued and you may be asked to appear before the concerned Police Station.

To avoid this and to avoid any arrest you can file anticipatory bail in the local court and evade arrest. Thereafter you can contest the case before the court. So it is better to apply for Anticipatory Bail Application before the District Court. Good luck.

You need not to wait for her, that she will file a case upon you.

You simply on the better safety, Can inform the police that you are in full apprentice that she will (wife) may make a false FIR against you.

Second thing is that you also write in complaint that she met you many times at many places and told you that she will file a wrong complaint against you and may like to litigate you in wrong, false and fabricated complaints... If that has happened with you in past....
