Hindu father's second wife registered their marriage.

We are a hindu family. My father first married in 1986 which was a social marriage and his second marriage happened in 1996 which was registered. He used to live with his second wife and had no connection with me and my mother(first wife). When he died we were not informed and he was cremated. Now, his death certificate has his second wife's name. What should I do?

do you have the photos of marriage of your mother and father it will be a poof and in your school certificate your fathers name is mentioned which will also be a proof so you have make legal heirship certificate

the second marriage is a void marriage and you can file a suit for declaration of the same. if you succeed in your suit then the death certificate will accordingly be rectified. the factum of registration will also be treated as void as fraud has been practiced in obtaining it.

It is necessary to know whether during the subsistence of his first marriage, he was married for the second times, whether your mother had raise any objection or not and whether in your mother's and yours Aadhaar Card and Voter ID Card, your father's name have been written or not.
