find if your property is on your name only and if your wife is capable of earning capacity then there is a chance of reducing demands. find a lawyer and explain your problem to him. and you can request that right now I'm searching for new job and reduce or if she doesn't have any strong points to prove then you can request for waive off.

The demands made by your wife are legally untenable and without any statutory basis. Under Indian law, a wife is entitled only to reasonable maintenance commensurate with the husband’s actual income and financial capacity, not arbitrary claims such as houses, plots, or lump sum amounts without legal justification. Your present unemployment is a relevant factor, and the Court will assess your real earning capacity, not hypothetical or inflated figures. You cannot be compelled to meet excessive or unrealistic demands. Further, your wife has no legal right over the self-acquired property of your adoptive mother during her lifetime. Such property does not constitute matrimonial property, and no claim for 60% share is legally sustainable. As regards proceedings under Section 498A IPC, you are entitled to contest the allegations on merits. If the case is false or exaggerated, you may seek appropriate legal remedies, including discharge/quashing. You should: 1. Contest any maintenance claim with proper financial disclosure, 2. Oppose unlawful property claims, 3. Defend criminal proceedings effectively and pursue legal remedies where necessary. Proceed strictly in accordance with law and do not succumb to unwarranted pressure or illegal demands.
