Ex-parte divorce on grounds of cruelty (hindu)

I have filed a divorce case against my spouse on grounds of extreme unbearable cruelty, with all evidence.
Summon was recieved by them but they did not show up in court on the said date.
When can the court proceed ex-parte?
How long will it take for ex-parte proceedings to complete?
Dear Sir,
To be frank in many cases the courts are afraid of placing the wife as exparte due to COVID situation. The family Courts reissuing again and again court notices to the wife. If Court summons are properly served in person then request the Court to place her ex-parte and to give judgment after recording your and your witnesses evidence.

The ex-parte decree is made when it is deem fit that the defendant has absent himself from the court on the date of hearing stated in the summons is served in accordance with the provision of the code. The whole procedure may take anytime 6months - 1 year all depending where the court summon to be sent to the opposite party and how that party reacts orbremains out of the court proceedings.
