Can we send legal notice reg 'No future engagements will be done' from both sides after future engagements were called off on phone from our side? Please suggest as it is being considered as a necessary document by the new family ( be it a formality) and for me to move on in life.

No. The oral communication is sufficient in itself. Its is a family related thing, not a legal contract. Just make aware one or two intermediaries or any common friend or relatives.

Phone intimation is enough but to do the fixed work then you should send the party a legal notice. In that notice you can say your things in stretch. It will also serve as a proof that you have broken all relations with the opposite party. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

As these days in such matters complaints were made by the parties regarding dowry demands n all . So it is just a precautionary step taken by the party so that in future opposite party may not file any complaint against them. For detailed discussion you may contact.
