There is not just counselling but you also have a provision for the same when you file a criminal complaint at the local police station and they will have the complaint referred to the Women Cell of the police branch. You will have to file a different case for maintenance and dv. I’ll explain the procedure and process in brief.

If your husband & in-laws behaviour is intolerable towards you then you can always file a DV case against all of them. You can also claim monthly maintenance from your husband during the pending of the case. Mediation can also urged during the proceeding.

Limitation provided under Crp c is applicable to complaint under Domestic Violence Act “…the issue of limitation, in view of the provisions of Section 468 Code of Criminal Procedure, that the complaint could be filed only within a period of one year from the date of the incident seem to be preponderous in view of the provisions of Sections 28 and 32 of the Act 2005 read with Rule 15(6) of The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Rules, 2006 which make the provisions of Code of Criminal Procedure applicable and stand fortified.” you have received the summons from the court then you should have to attend the court date regularly otherwise exparty order can be granted from the court.
