Domestic abuse and violence by wife, in-laws and neighbours

21-Nov-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I am a 46 yo man living with my 43 yo wife and 1year old baby. She doesn't want me to keep in touch with my elder sisters and mother. She instigated my neighbours against me by claiming that she is tortured and that I dont feed her properly. I have installed a CC Camera in my drawing room for my own protection in case I am framed falsely. My next door neighbour and my wife's friend has threatened to break it and abuses me in filthy language. Two days back my wife had a miscarriage which is normal as per the doctor considering her age and health. Last night, my in-laws came, my FIL abused and accused me of her miscarriage. The neighbours gheraod and abused me and called the cops. My mobile phone was snatched away. We were called to the PS where my wife told the police that my sisters are causing trouble in our marriage and that I dont give her time. The police refuted and asked her to submit written complaint which she didnt. Can I file a GD for this and seek divorce for mental cruelty?

listen dont file divorce instead ypur mother and sister can file a case against her and she will be in deep trouble and court will hear your mothers part in no time, silently do it in no time before anything goes wrong and you are implicated in false cases

yes yes you can certainly file for divorce on the ground of cruelty if you want to take that path. but given your position which seems to be in very thin ice you must be careful of retaliation in the form of criminal proceeding against you as well. regards, Tanmoy Chattopadhyay, M.Sc (Net), LL.B (Delhi), Advocate, High Court, Calcutta.
