Do I need to apply for a divorce?

When I was 20 years old, I eloped with a 25-year-old boy. He applied sindoor on my forehead, and we exchanged flower malas. However, there was no registered marriage, no temple marriage certificate, and no social ceremony. There was no Hindu Brahmin present. Only his side witnessed the event, and a few photographs were taken.
I stayed at his house for nine months, and we lived together during that time. However, he was physically abusive, so I decided to end the relationship.
how long you are out of touch? how old are you then ? how old are you now? need to know every detail of that period. what is his present status? whether he Marry again? Is there any issue out of that marriage? where does he stay ? what is his profession? what are you doing?
