Divorce of hindu marriage delayed due to unresponsive husband

04-Jul-2025 (In Divorce Law)
I filed for divorce in February 2022 due to dowry demands of money via coercion by my husband. I gave proofs of money transfer form 2019 to 2021. I underwent cross examination by his advocate to confirm that I want divorce. He wants compromise, but I want divorce . Our case is posted for arguments in February 2025 Can my advocate go ahead with arguments even if his advocate does not come forward for arguments?

Your advocate can proceed with arguments even if the opposite party's advocate is absent and the court can decide the case based on your submissions and evidence if the other side does not participate . Absent party may get one more chance if there is a valid reason but repeated options can lead to an ex party decision .
