Divorce grounds for contested filing

06-Feb-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I am a recovered alcoholic who have not touched alcohol for 24 months. My husband left me 2 years back due to my relapses. We had a lot of fights during the time. I do not want divorce but my husband wants it. Can he file for contested divorce based on cruelty. We both used to drink and my condition went bad over the years. I corrected myself. I want him to reconcile. This is also my second marriage. Pls help.

Hello,
You can file for reconciliation of marriage in the court. And clearly state your grounds why you want to keep this marriage. If still your husband is. Not ready would advice him to go for a counselling session which will be helpful for both of you.

hi

in this case it is advisable that you should file petition for restitution of conjugal rights wherein you can claim resumption of marital life

this may also defend you from the contesting petition of divorce if filed by your husband
