I am an Indian citizen and I moved to a Singapore with my husband in 2018. I have 1 daughter who is 4 years old now. My husband ill treats me and doesn’t let me return to india with my daughter. I want advice on whether is it possible for me to file divorce after going to india but leaving my daughter with him as he won’t allow me to take her? I cannot file divorce in Singapore as I am a dependent here and I am not earning plus no support system.

hello, May i know where the marriage was held, and yes, you can file for divorce and child custody in India in the court which falls into the jurisdiction of your marriage place. also the law which your are governed under is also important, if the law you are governed by is hindu law or muslim law or Christian law or else if it's a special marriage needs to be seen.

Dear Madam, You can file Divorce in India and also claim huge alimony. With the help of Singapore Police you may depart to India with your child then file permanent child custody case in India. You may also file other cases against your husband to bring him under control.
