DIL stays in her house after child birth...
30-Mar-2025 (In Divorce Law)
Marriage happened 7 years ago. Lot of problem. My son(42) filed divorced 3 years. During the talk they want us to stay in their house portion. We refused. Then, DIL agreed to stay 4 days in our house & 4 days in their house. She hardly stayed in our house for total 20 days. She was conceived & never returned. After girl baby birth of 8 months(In total 15 months), she doesn't want to return. Using baby as emotional lock. My son filing divorce. Any way to live with baby. Need suggestion?

Here are some possible approaches:
1. Legal Visitation Rights – Depending on your country's laws, grandparents may have the right to seek visitation through the court. If your son gets shared custody, that will also give you access to the child when she is with him.
2. Mediation & Negotiation – Instead of fighting legally, try mediation to reach an agreement with your daughter-in-law. If she sees that you genuinely want to be involved in the child's life, she may allow visits.
3. Emotional Bonding – Keep communication open with your granddaughter as she grows, even if it’s through video calls or visits arranged through your son. Building a strong emotional connection is key.
4. Supporting Your Son’s Custody Case – If your son is fighting for custody or shared parenting time, ensure he presents a stable, supportive environment for the child. Courts often decide in the child’s best interest, so your involvement could be beneficial.
5. Staying Patient & Positive – Avoid conflicts or blame games with your daughter-in-law. If she feels attacked, she may become more resistant. A calm and cooperative approach increases the chances of seeing your granddaughter.
